1. What OpenPitch is
OpenPitch connects recreational soccer players with the people who organize games, in Rochester, New York. We do not own or operate any field, we do not run the games, and we are not a party to the arrangement between an organizer and a venue. We provide the platform where those arrangements are made visible and filled.
2. Accounts
Playing does not require an account. Organizing a session or managing a facility does. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials private and for everything done through your account. Provide accurate information — organizers and players rely on it to show up at the right place.
3. Organizing a session
Anyone with an account can organize. If you do, you are responsible for:
- Actually securing the field for the time you advertise
- Describing the session honestly — location, time, format, and price per player
- Telling players promptly if the session changes or is cancelled
Sessions confirm automatically once the minimum player count is reached. If it is not reached, the session is cancelled and payments collected for it are refunded.
4. Field managers
Field managers publish the time blocks they have available and respond to booking requests. Approving a request is a commitment to make that field available at that time. Pricing, access, and any facility rules remain yours to set.
5. Pitches are shared
The pitch catalogue is public and collaborative: any organizer can add a field, and it becomes visible to everyone once reviewed. Do not submit inaccurate listings, and do not upload photos you have no right to use.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post illegal, harassing, discriminatory, or fraudulent content
- Impersonate another person, organizer, or venue
- Advertise sessions you have no intention of running
- Use the service to spam other users
- Attempt to bypass access controls or disrupt the service
We may suspend or remove accounts that do any of the above.
7. Payments
OpenPitch is free during the beta. Where a session has a price, it is set by the organizer and processed by Stripe. Refunds follow the cancellation rules in section 3 — if a session is cancelled for missing its minimum, players are refunded.
8. Playing is at your own risk
Soccer carries a risk of injury. You take part in sessions at your own risk. OpenPitch does not supervise games, verify insurance, or inspect fields, and is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from a session found through the platform.
9. Your content
You keep the rights to what you post. By posting it, you grant us permission to display it within the service — a session you create is meant to be seen.
10. Service provided as is
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. During the beta in particular, expect gaps and interruptions. We are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the platform.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms, and will note the date above when we do. Significant changes are emailed to account holders. Questions go to support@openpitchroc.com.
